About 'YOUTH for YOUTH' program

Youth for Youth

A monthly Special Interaction Program of  YPS

Introduction:

                Youth  for  youth (Y4Y) is  a  special  type  of  interactive  program aimed  to 

clear  confusion  and  misunderstandings  on  the  youth  concerned  topics.  The 

program is a monthly forum to discuss on sensitive subjects who keeps all round 

influence upon the human life. In this program a field specific specialist is invited 

as  chief  guest  (chief  speaker)  of  the  program  who  he  keeps  his/her  

multidimensionally clear  and balanced speech  continuously  for 45  minutes  to  the 

audience on  some  pre-determined  topic. After  it  the  interested  audiences will  be 

given chance to keep his/her question, thought, comment, suggestion, critic, etc. in 

short  respectively.  The  questions  or  misunderstandings  aroused  by  this  way  will 

again  be  addressed  shortly  by  the  speaker  to  make  it  clear.  This  program  is  a 

formal  program,  which  is  concluded  by  the  program  president  keeping  his  short 

speech  at  the  end. To  make the program  more  interesting  and  energetic  short 

creative presentations will be included occasionally.

Y4Y is organized by YOUNG Philosophers' Society (YPS) on the technical 

cooperation of Kathmandu Valley Public Library (KVPL). Mero FM 93.5 and
Jeevan Darshan as well as Pratham Paila are the media partners of Y4Y.

Management:

The topic of the program is  selected by the representative of YPS and KVPL in 

consultation  of  the  speaker.  For  the  call  of  participants,  the  notices  enclosing 

details  of  the  program  are  disclosed  to  different  centers  notice  boards,  social 

Medias, pamphlets, newspapers and occasionally through audio-visual Medias by 

YPS. The program is anchored by a member of YPS and a representative of KVPL 

puts  welcome  speech  in  the  program.  Y4Y  is  chaired by  YPS  president.  All  the 

participants get to have tea and biscuit just after the program. 

Any sponsorship made to the program goes to YPS project called, "International 

Spiritual Library."

Young Philosophers' Society (YPS)

        People understand or conceptualize the world as per his perspective and this very perspective is 

built  as  per  the  education,  environment  and  experience  obtained  throughout  his/her  lifetime. 

Hence, everyone is special and unique here. A farmer's perspective towards life and world is of a 

type,  whereas  a  teacher's  understanding  of  life  and  world  is  different.  In  fact  farmer's 

understanding  is  not  wrong  and  the  teacher's  is  also  not  right. But these  very  understandings 

invite conflicts and wars. Though, the universal fact and experience lies beyond these individual 

perceptions. So, philosophy in real sense, is to guide these individuals in the path to know that 

very universal knowledge and truth. Finally, this universal knowledge works as the panacea for 

all miseries.

Philosophy teaches to experience this universal knowledge and live good life. It's clear that the 

basis of good life is the universal understanding. And the basis of universal understanding is the 

philosophical  education,  philosophical  environment  and  universal  experience.  Moreover  the 

basis  of  philosophical  environment  and  experience  is  also  philosophical  education.  So,  for 

prosperous individual,  family,  society,  country, the world  and even the universe, development 

and practice of philosophy is the need of this time.

Even  to develop  a  real  selfless  leader  for  citizens  and  the  country  is  possible  only  by  the 

education  of  philosophy.  Analyzing  these  facts,  with  the  motto,  'for  the  development  of 

philosophical thought and good leadership' Young Philosophers' Society is established.

Core Objectives of YPS

1. Work for the ideological (religious, cultural and political) interfaith for global peace and harmony.
2. Work for the youth and children empowerment by the use of philosophical tools and technology.
3. Work with local and international Medias for ideological tolerance.
4. Make comparative study, research and publication on different philosophies and its various areas.
5. Work to be back to nature.
